Portrait Commissions

People
Are you looking for a commissioned portrait of your family or a family member? Are you looking for a corporate portrait of a member or members of your business? We are in contact with a number of artists who are keen to take on commissioned work. A portrait makes the most wonderful gift for that special person and provides a unique and lasting memento. It may be necessary for the portrait artist to meet the subject of the commissioned picture. However, if the portrait is to be a surprise a painting from photographs can be arranged.
 

Animals
We are in contact with a number of artists specializing in dog portraits, cat portraits or equestrian portraits who are keen to take on commissioned work. These artists are able to work from photographs of the animal. The artists specialize in different mediums including oils, water colours or sculptures in bronze.
 
Architecture
We are in contact with a number of artists who specialize in architectural paintings of various styles. These artists can work from photographs of the building you would like to have painted.
 
Wildlife
A number of artists who specialize in wildlife subject matter have indicated that they would be delighted to accept a commission for a painting or sculpture of an animal.
 
Commission Process
We are pleased to assist with the task of finding the right artist to meet your portrait requirements from our growing database of South African artists. We are in contact with painters, who work in oils and water colours, and sculptors who work in bronze. We would need to know your requirements in order to select the artist we consider most suited to meeting your needs. We would provide you with access to the artist's portfolio, an up to date biography of the artist and their prices.
 
Once you have agreed to commission a portrait a simple contract will be drawn up between you and the artist and a deposit to start the commission will be paid. In most cases two or three installments, including the initial deposit, are required for the commission. The final installment will be paid on completion.
