Joe Dolby was born and educated in Cape Town B A ( Fine Art ) University of Cape Town. Post - graduate Diploma in Printmaking - University of Cape Town. Higher Education Diploma - University of Cape Town.
 
Studied Intaglio printmaking at the Central School of Art in London. Taught at a Secondary school in Cape Town Since 1980. Has worked as a Museum Curator in Cape Town.
 
Works in pencil, charcoal, pastels and acrylics. Accepts portrait commissions. Has works in private collections in South Africa and the United States of America.
